Irving Azoff Interview: “The business is going to have to wake up and realize that recorded music sales are an ancillary business….. Wal-Mart has tremendous resources that no label could afford to bring to the party….. I recently looked to see how much The Eagles have been paid in royalties from all their downloads at iTunes. The Eagles are one of the two or three best selling catalogs in the business. And we figured out that [total iTunes royalties] equaled about 45 minutes of one concert at any city in the world.” via NY Post

Idol on Itunes: “Apple announced today that they have partnered with Fox Broadcasting Company to provide performances from Season 7 of the American Idol show on iTunes one day after airing. Music will be available for $.99 and video for $1.99. American Idol is a popular U.S. television singing competition reality series.” via MacRumors

Jimmy’s turd to get shelved? Nicole Scherzinger is back with the Pussycat Dolls and it looks like her solo album will never come out. “We’re in the studio right now,” Antin (a member of the group) said. “Nicole is 100% back with us. She actually never left. She was working on her solo stuff and it’s out there and people will hear that, but she actually wants to focus on Pussycat Dolls right now.” via NY Daily News

Eminem to publish his memoirs: Eminem will publish his memoirs in a new book, ‘Eminem: The Way I Am’, on October 16. The book, published by Orion Books, will feature unseen photographs of the rapper, as well as journal notes, hand-drawn art and lyric sketches, as well as a narrative and introduction written by the star. via NME
