Chris Hicks has been appointed Executive Vice President at Island Def Jam. He is replacing Shakir Stewart, who died of a self-inflicted shotgun wound in November of last year.
Hicks most recently served as Senior Vice President, A&R and Head of Urban Music for Warner/Chappell, where he signed such artists as T.I., Lil’ Wayne, Yung Joc, LeToya, Eric Hudson and Lloyd. He also helped re-sign Timbaland and Dr. Dre.
