Word on the street is that David Foster’s contract at Warner is about to expire. Foster has been affiliated with the company since 1995 when he launched his own record label, 143 Records, in a joint venture with WMG, which has produced a variety of hits with artists such as Michael Bublé, Josh Groban and The Corrs.

With Foster’s WMG deal about to expire, it looks like Lucian Grainge is trying to bring the multi-platinum producer, songwriter and A&R to Universal. Sources say that Sony might also be in the mix with the expected arrival of Doug Morris, who has remained close to Foster since his days at Atlantic.
