CBS, Last.fm Merge Radio Resources: “CBS Radio and Last.fm, both owned by CBS Corp, have teamed up for closer collaboration on their respective radio initiatives. Under the agreement, CBS Radio will stream all its stations to Last.fm’s U.S. users. This includes KROQ in Los Angeles, WCBS in New York, WXRT in Chicago and WVEE in Atlanta.” (via Billboard)

Labels Sue Pirate Bay: “The Pirate Bay has been thumbing its nose at major labels for years.  Now, labels are hoping to punish the massive BitTorrent tracker in court. On Tuesday, news of a $2.5 million lawsuit surfaced, filed in Sweden by global recording industry trade group IFPI.  The copyright infringement suit mentions numerous compromised recordings, though it also references various film and gaming assets.” (via DMN)
Douglas Merrill To Head EMI Digital: “EMI Music has appointed Google’s chief information officer and one of its most senior global executives, Douglas Merrill, to lead its growing digital music business. As President, Digital Business, EMI Music, Merrill will head a new global function which brings together for the first time leadership responsibility for all of the company’s digital strategy, innovation, business development, supply chain and global technology activities.” (via EMI)

Swift Signs With WMA: “The William Morris Agency (WMA) has signed platinum country singer/songwriter Taylor Swift for representation in all areas… Responsible agents are Nashville-based senior VP Greg Oswald, and on the West Coast, Dave Wirtschafter, president of WMA, and Jason Trawick in the film area, along with a team of about a dozen agents that will work on the various aspects of Swift’s career.” (via Billboard)
