Daily News: Wednesday

Paradigm Goes 360: “Companies wanting to forge 360-degree deals are now staffing broader levels of expertise. In that spirit, booking and talent agency Paradigm has now slotted entertainment branding expert Lori Sale into the newly-created Head of Artist Marketing position. The hiring was revealed Tuesday by company Chairman Sam Gores, who pulled Sale from International Creative Management (ICM). According to the company, Sale will “service the unique marketing and 360-degree representation needs of the artist,” and chase endorsements, sponsorships, licensing, merchandising and branding deals. The company will also integrate artists into film and television projects being handled by sister Paradigm divisions. Paradigm music clients include Aerosmith, Coldplay, Ingrid Michaelson, Lily Allen, UGK, and Pharrell Williams.” (via DMN)

Clear Channel Deal Close To Collapse: “The planned $19 billion privatization of the nation’s largest radio broadcaster, Clear Channel Communications Inc., looked increasingly likely to fall through as the private-equity firms and banks backing the transaction failed to resolve their differences over final financing terms, people familiar with the matter said.” (via WSJ)

Rival Labels Chase The Stones: “Universal Music, Sony BMG and Warner Music have already begun courting the Stones in an effort to wrest them away from their long-time label, EMI. The band’s contract expires in June, and they are expected to finalise their plans within months. Some people close to the discussions have speculated the band could keep the albums and touring rights separate in their next deal rather than signing an all-encompassing pact like Madonna.” (via FT)

NYLON Magazine Music Tour Produced by Live Nation: “Live Nation, the world’s largest live music company, announced today that it has teamed up with trend setting fashion and culture magazine NYLON to produce and promote the NYLON Magazine Music Tour headlined by acclaimed electro rockers She Wants Revenge, set to play many of the company’s clubs and theaters across the country this spring. Also confirmed for the tour are Nashville punk rockers Be Your Own Pet, New York indie band The Virgins and UK buzz-worthy Brit-pop band Switches.” (via Press Release)
