Labels Suing Ireland’s Biggest ISP: “Ireland’s labels body is taking legal action against the country’s biggest broadband ISP, Eircom. According to a story leaked to the Irish Times, the Irish Recorded Music Association is taking its grievances to the High Court in Dublin over Eircom’s refusal to use filtering technology or other measures to prevent illegal file-sharing. The music majors’ local subsidiaries are understood to be taking part in the action.” (via Billboard)
Live Nation Want The Stones: “Live Nation, the world’s largest concert promotion firm, has emerged as a surprise bidder for the Rolling Stones back catalogue of hits as the band considers ending its relationship with EMI.” (via TimesOnline)

Nielsen Launches The Entertainment Council: “The Nielsen Company has established The Entertainment Council, an invitation-only member organization designed to enhance marketing expertise in the entertainment industry.
