Apple blocks cheaper UK iPod sales: “Apple is threatening legal action against 11 UK e-tailers unless they stop selling iPods imported from outside the UK. The computer giant has complained to a number of well-known online retailers which were buying iPods in the US – where they sell for £15 less than the UK– and then selling them at a knocked-down price to customers in Blighty. The undertakings issued by London law firm Bird & Bird and seen by The Register, demand e-tailers stop selling what it described as “Grey iPods” anywhere in Europe.” (via Channel Register)
MySpace stripped of myspace.co.uk domain victory: “An independent appeals panel has overturned a heavily-criticised decision to hand control of the myspace.co.uk domain to Rupert Murdoch’s Fox Interactive Media. Nominet’s Dispute Resolution Service (DRS), had ruled in favour of MySpace in January, despite the domain having been registered by a small British ISP six years before the US social network was founded.” (via The Register)
NIN Attempt To Thwart Scalpers: “Nine Inch Nails have unveiled plans for a restrictive ticket-selling procedure that the group hopes will keep out of the hands of scalpers tickets for some of the best seats in the house on the group’s upcoming tour. According to a press release, the industrial-rock outfit “has secured extremely limited allotments of the guaranteed best possible seats to every headlining show on the band’s upcoming tour,” and will distribute those tickets via pre-sales at NIN.com that will commence “roughly 72 hours prior” to public on-sales in each market, according to a press release.” (via LiveDaily)
