Changes At Epic: “Epic Records promotion department has reorganized under head Jacqueline Saturn. Tommy Nappi will now oversee Crossover in addition to his Pop duties with Pop nationals Marni Halpern and Alex Levy reporting to him on Crossover. The department has also upped a pair of “super” regionals, including Dixie Tipton in Chicago and Sonny D in L.A.” (via Hits)
EMI To Buy Boosey & Hawkes? “EMI, the record group owned by Guy Hands’ private equity firm Terra Firma, is eyeing up a £100m bid for classical sheet music publisher Boosey & Hawkes. A source close to EMI said that Boosey would appeal to the group as it would bolster its successful music publishing arm. Boosey owns rights to a who’s who of 20th-century composers, including Rachmaninoff and Stravinsky, and signed jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis in January.” (via The Independent)
