Strang new Warner/Chappell CEO

Cameron Strang has been appointed CEO of Warner/Chappell. Strang gained fame in the music publishing world by signing writers such as J.R. Rotem and Bruno Mars, and later on acquiring the Kings of Leon publishing.
Warner/Chappell Chairman-CEO David H. Johnson, who has held those roles since 2007, will stay on at the company as chair until July 1, when Strang will assume that role as well.
Edgar Bronfman, Chairman/CEO of Warner Music Group, commented: “Cameron’s impressive track record of identifying and signing some of the industry’s most successful emerging songwriters and catalogs, and his proven success as an entrepreneur make him the ideal executive to lead Warner/Chappell.”
Cameron Strang added: “I am thrilled to be joining the WMG team, the most innovative group of executives in the business. I’m looking forward to working with the legendary Warner/Chappell roster of writers and catalog as well as Warner/Chappell’s many talented employees.”
